Dr. Abraham is passionate about philanthropy and helping his local Hudson Valley and tri-state community where he lives with his wife and children. Having survived ethnic violence while growing up, Dr. Abraham is committed to humanitarian work to make the world a better place.

In his spare time, Dr. Abraham is Team Leader for Healing The Children, North East, where he helps organize, recruit and lead large teams of doctor, nurses and volunteers to needy communities across the globe who desperately need physicians and reconstructive surgeons. Dr. Abraham and his team spend long days, improving the lives of children with facial deformities. Hundreds of parents often travel for days for the opportunity to literally change the course of their child’s life. Dr. Abraham has been involved with international medical mission work for several decades, and sits on the Board for Healing The Children North East. He leads two to three medical teams each year, and has been recognized as a Surgeon Honoree for his dedication and commitment.

Dr. Abraham is also the current Chairman of the Face to Face Committee, the humanitarian arm of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Through Face to Face, Dr. Abraham has been involved with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) and was integral to designing a database to better connect victims of domestic violence who needed facial reconstruction to volunteers surgeons within the Academy. He was a recent recipient of the Academy’s 1887 award given to an individual member who has “gone the extra mile.” In his role on the NCADV’s Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery Advisory Council, Dr. Abraham is working to improve the process to help victims of domestic violence overcome physical reminders of abuse so that they may go on to live fulfilling lives. Dr. Abraham personally donates his own time, resources and expertise to reconstruct the faces of women and children in the local community who have been traumatized by domestic violence.
