Facelift in Poughkeepsie, NY

Board Certified Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons

At New York’s Facial, Plastic, Reconstructive and Laser Surgery, our highly trained and compassionate Poughkeepsie facelift surgeons specialize exclusively on procedures of the face, nose and neck. Many patients feel discouraged when they look in the mirror. The face they see looks older and more tired than they feel. A facelift and necklift are the most popular solutions for aging patients.

Poughkeepsie facelift surgery, also called a rhytidectomy, cannot stop the aging process; however, it gives your face a more youthful, healthy and rested appearance.

Facelift surgery restores a well-defined, youthful face, neck and jawline to dramatically reduce the signs of aging. New York facelift patients experience an immediate increase in self-confidence. When you look at your face in the mirror it now more accurately represents how you feel inside.

During facelift surgery, we lift and reposition the underlying tissue and remove the loose, droopy or wrinkled skin. A facelift procedure restores the smooth contours of the face, making you look like your much younger self. A Poughkeepsie necklift procedure does the same for your neckline.

Using only state-of-the-art techniques, our Board Certified Poughkeepsie Facial Plastic Surgeons tailor their approach to address the needs of each patient.

We can smooth the wrinkles of your face, tightening the muscles of your neck, remove excess skin under the jawline and add volume to lift your cheeks to create an instantly more youthful appearance.

Who is a Candidate for Facelift Surgery?
Facelift surgery is appropriate for healthy men and women seeking to improve the contour of the face and neck. The best candidates for facelift surgery are those patients who are relatively healthy, do not smoke, and have realistic expectations. We recommend scheduling a consultation to see if facelift surgery is the best option for you.

To maintain their inner youth, many patients also turn to non-surgical facial rejuvenation before considering facelift surgery. Non-surgical procedures include Thermage® skin-tightening, laser skin rejuvenation, facial fillers and Poughkeepsie Botox®.

At Facial, Plastic, Reconstructive and Laser Surgery, our award-winning facelift surgeons deliver a natural, healthy and rejuvenated look, as opposed to an unnatural, operated-upon appearance.

Facelift surgery does not stop the aging process, but it does make patients of all ages look younger and rejuvenated and the results last for years to come.

What is the Recovery Like from Facelift Surgery?
Facelift surgery is performed in an outpatient setting with most patients returning home within a few hours after surgery. Light “awake” sedation or general anesthesia is used, depending on a patient’s preference.

Small incisions are hidden within the hairline, behind the ear and under the chin. The facial soft tissue is carefully “lifted” and rotated back to a more youthful position. Excess soft tissue and skin may be removed to improve the definition of the neck and jawline, and soften wrinkles that have formed secondary to excess skin laxity, thus restoring a youthful facial contour.

Facelift surgery results are seen within a few weeks, and you will be ready to show yourself off in a month or two. Patients may return to work and non-strenuous activities within a week or two. Some bruising, swelling, and discomfort can occur the first few days after surgery. Most patients feel confident returning to their public and social lives in about 10-14 days.

Before your surgery, our experienced team of Board Certified Poughkeepsie Facelift Surgeons will give you a variety of tips to improve your results and recovery time. Our proprietary Rapid Recovery Protocol™ utilizes minimally invasive techniques, supplements and homeopathic medications to speed healing time.

The latest technology including ultrasound treatments, massage and manual lymphatic drainage also ensure the quickest recovery possible. Detailed postoperative and aftercare instructions will be provided to each patient.

Facelift FAQs

While there is no perfect age for a facelift, we typically see patients ranging in age from 40s to even 70’s, come in for a facelift consultation. Our medical professionals are happy to provide a facelift to patients even women in their 30s who are experiencing premature signs of aging or have had significant weight loss to women in their 70’s who are in good general health and desire a refreshed, rejuvenated look.

The results of your facelift have the potential to last more than 10 years. While the skin will still age as time goes on, the results of your facelift can be maintained with the help of non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments. We often recommend our patients consider Botox® and fillers or medical-grade skin care to prolong the results of their facelift procedure.

Immediately following a facelift, it’s normal to experience swelling and bruising. While most swelling and bruising generally subsides within one month of having a facelift, we typically ask that our patients be patient for up to three months following their facelift to see their ultimate results. After about three months, all swelling will diminish and the skin will settle into its new position.

Yes, facelifts can and do look natural! Many of our patients are worried about looking “overdone” or “wind-blown” following their facelift procedures. Our medical professionals go through extensive advanced training using the latest techniques to provide patients with natural-looking, rejuvenated results.

Yes, a facelift can take up to 10 years off of a patient’s appearance. This is done by gently lifting the skin and structures of the lower face to contour the jawline, rejuvenate the facial features, and enhance the patient’s natural beauty for results that will leave patients looking refreshed and more youthful.
