Breast Reduction in Poughkeepsie, NY

Board Certified Manhattan Plastic Surgeons

For many women, large breasts (or breasts that are disproportionately large for their bodies) are a constant source of discomfort. They cause pains in the neck, upper back, and shoulders. Bras don’t fit quite right and leave deep painful grooves on their shoulders. Not to mention the sweating, the rashes, the armpit rolls, and the constant unwanted attention.

If this sounds familiar, breast reduction surgery may be right for you. For many patients, breast reduction surgery can improve or eliminate:

  • Excessive sagging or drooping
  • Back, shoulder, and neck pain
  • Self-consciousness
  • Indentations caused by bra-straps
  • Inability to wear certain types of clothing

Dr. DelMauro spends time getting to know each patient’s aesthetic goals and develops a personalized plan for each patient’s breast reduction surgery. His goal is to help you attain smaller, perkier breasts which are more proportionate to your body and more flattering to your overall appearance.

Breast Reduction FAQs

Women who are (1) healthy, (2) want to improve the location, shape, and possibly size of their breasts, and (3) have realistic expectations are excellent candidates for breast reduction surgery.

All of our procedures are performed at our office in our JCAHO-accredited surgical suite. In other words, your surgery will be performed in a facility that has met the same standards as a hospital!

A breast reduction typically takes three to four hours or less to complete and is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis.

There are multiple ways to perform a breast reduction. The technique that is chosen depends on each patient’s individual needs and aesthetic goals.

With Dr. DelMauro’s rapid recovery protocol, most patients experience only mild aches after breast reduction surgery. Most patients are able to return to their normal daily routine and work within a few days. (However, patients are advised to avoid various activities for several weeks after surgery. Additional details will be discussed with you by Dr. DelMauro and is explained in the postoperative instructions provided to each patient.)
