Scar revision surgery drastically minimizes the visual appearance of a facial laceration scar. A facial laceration is a cut or tear in the soft tissue of your face or neck. Neck or facial scarring is often the result of severe acne, trauma, injury or surgery like skin cancer resection. Scarring may also occur as a result of previous plastic surgery procedures such as facelift, rhinoplasty, necklift, or eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). Scars that occur as a result of injury or surgery often visibly remain after the wound has healed. Poor healing may result in unsightly and disfiguring scars. Even wounds that heal well often leave a noticeable trace.
Facial scarring may cause significant functional problems for patients when located closely to the lips, eyelids, ears, or nose. Repairing this damage requires a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon with the expertise and experience to evaluate the damage of the facial laceration, or its severity, and work with you to recommend the best course of action.
Who is a Candidate for Facial Scar Revision?
Healthy men, women, and children seeking to minimize a small or large scar on their face and / or neck may be excellent candidates for facial scar revision. Younger patients may be candidates based on various factors, including medical history and emotional maturity. During a consultation, your surgeon will work with you to help determine the best course of action that will deliver the most appealing results.
What is the Recovery like from Facial Scar Revision?
Scar revision may be performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the patient’s preference and severity of the case. We only practice the most state-of-the-art techniques and use a variety of treatment modalities to resolve any function or cosmetic impairment. Results will be almost invisible in appearance. More complicated deformities may require a series of separate treatments.
Scar revision of the face and neck is accomplished in an outpatient setting. Most patients return home after only a few hours. Mild redness and discomfort are common for 1-2 weeks following surgery, depending on the severity of the case. Healing will continue over time as the new scar heals and fades in appearance. Additional skin care treatments, such as laser skin resurfacing or chemical peels will help improve cosmetic results.
Scar revision surgery of the face and neck is an art. Those patients considering facial scar revision should carefully evaluate their surgeon’s credentials and training. Our elite surgeons have the experience and expertise to offer patients the best cosmetic results while protecting the proper function and movement of the face and neck.

Had the BEST facial with Amanda. She was so sweet and gentle during my facial and even gave me recommendations post facial. The spa had such a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Overall a great experience and I will be back!
The very first faces you see are the beautiful ones at the receptionist desk. They are warm, friendly & very greeting. I was brought right back to meet Dr. Abraham. I had been very excited to meet the Dr. who was going to be doing my surgery. I brought in a few photos of the expectation I had for myself, to look like again. Within reason of course. He was SO knowledgeable & answered all my questions & concerns. Before my actual meeting with Dr. Abraham, I researched many doctor's in this area. I kept returning to Dr. Abraham. I was EXTREMELY impressed. What a kind, gentle soul he is. Bedside manner, I give him 1,000 stars if I could. Then as all of our questions & concerns were answered to our liking, we met Judy. She works extremely hard. Dr. Abraham's right hand LADY! She MADE SURE everything went as smoothly as it did. And because of Judy getting everything in order, I had my full neck lift, a lower facelift & an earlobe reduction. I was really swollen after surgery, but almost 2 months post op, I can SEE the younger me ALREADY. I know I have a little ways to go, but I could not be HAPPIER than I am, as every day goes by. I'm looking forward to healing a little more so I can continue with getting my sun spots removed next. TY especially for Dr. Abraham's GIFTED hands from GOD. And TY for all your missions you do. TY to the wonderful nurses & everyone who took good care of me.
