Breast augmentation increases breast volume, improves breast contour, and refines your overall silhouette. When performed properly, breast augmentation enhances your overall look without making you seem “top heavy”.
Dr. DelMauro spends time getting to know each patient’s aesthetic goals and develops a personalized plan for each patient’s breast augmentation. Whether you prefer a “natural-looking” result or a “natural plus” look, a beautiful result is within reach.
<!–What is the Recovery like from a Breast Augmentation with Implants?
Breast augmentation typically takes two hours or less to complete and is performed under general anesthesia, or local anesthesia combined with a sedative. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis.
Breast implants can be placed beneath the chest muscle or directly beneath the breast tissue. Your plastic surgeon will discuss which option may be the best for you.
There are a variety of techniques our plastic surgeons use to perform breast augmentation. Implants can be placed via incisions made via the:
Saline implants can be placed through a new and innovative technique called TUBA, or transumbilical breast augmentation. This technique places saline implants endoscopically through an incision in the navel, which results in a small, hidden scar. In TUBA procedures, breast implants can only be placed directly beneath the breast tissue.
Once the incision has been made, the breast tissue is lifted to form a pocket to hold the implant. The implant is placed and the incisions are closed. Patients can expect some pain and discomfort after breast augmentation surgery, but this can be managed with medication.
Some bruising, swelling and numbing sensations will likely affect the breasts and nipples within the first few weeks following the procedure. Stitches are typically removed within the first 10 days after surgery. Patients can usually get back to their normal routines within a few days to a week.
Our experienced surgeons reduce bruising and recovery time with the application of state-of-art techniques and the use of homeopathic or herbal options. Detailed postoperative and aftercare instructions will be provided to each patient.
