9 out of 10 women and men deal with stretchmarks and scars. Micro Needling and Paramedical Tattooing are valuable tools to treat scars and stretchmarks and help camouflage them. Serums and pigment are infused directly into the deeper dermis where scarring and stretch marks form and working slowly and efficiently can help target these areas of concerns. This treatment works well for post-pregnancy stretchmarks, tummy tuck, breast reduction, face lift and other scars. It is safe to use on the face and body.
The treatment is a two-step process. We begin with an assessment of the texture, thickness and color of the scar or stretchmark to determine a customized treatment plan. There is no tanning before the procedure and scars must be at least one year old.
We then use Nue Regen serum which is an advanced serum designed to improve skin texture, targeting stretch marks and scars. It is made with a blend of regenerative ingredients including Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), Amino Acid Complex, Hydrolyzed Collagen and Chlorphenesin. The Regen serum works by stimulating the skin’s natural healing processes, promoting the regeneration of skin cells, and improving skin elasticity and firmness. A second serum is formulated with brightening agents to lighten dark scars and stretch marks while enhancing skin radiance.
Once we are able to target and flatten out scars and improve texture, we can then move to the second part which is the camouflage process. Many clients may not choose to camouflage and only have the inkless procedure. For those who choose to camouflage, a color match treatment is performed. Scar camouflage lessens the contrasting colors of healthy tissue and scar tissue. Tanned tattooed color will remain the same but will appear less contrasting than prior to scar camouflage (see banner image above). Once the tan fades, skin will go back to normal skin color and blend again with the scar camouflage. These results are permanent. It is preferred to wait one two months in between the Regen and camouflage procedure.
Of course, with any treatment there are contraindications. These contraindications include:
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Due to a lack of safety studies, the company recommends against using its products on pregnant or breastfeeding women. Hormonal changes can also increase the risk of unpredictable results and infection.
- Keloid scarring: Individuals with a history or predisposition for keloid scars (thick, raised scars) are advised against the procedure, as it could worsen scar formation.
- Blood disorders: Those with blood clotting disorders or who are taking blood-thinning medications should not undergo the procedure without a doctor’s clearance.
- Autoimmune diseases: People with autoimmune diseases that affect skin health may be poor candidates due to unpredictable healing.
- Active skin conditions: The treatment area must be free of active infections, inflammations, or skin diseases like eczema or psoriasis. These conditions can interfere with the tattooing and healing process.
- Sun exposure: Recent sun exposure, sunburns, or tanning in the treatment area can affect the accuracy of color matching. It is also important to avoid direct sun exposure for several weeks after the treatment.
- Existing scarring: Severe or heavily textured scarring may not be suitable for the procedure, which is more effective at addressing color than texture.
- Open wounds: The procedure should not be performed over open wounds or erosions.
SCAR REVISION / REMOVAL
Scar revision surgery drastically minimizes the visual appearance of a facial laceration scar. A facial laceration is a cut or tear in the soft tissue of your face or neck. Neck or facial scarring is often the result of severe acne, trauma, injury or surgery like skin cancer resection. Scarring may also occur as a result of previous plastic surgery procedures such as facelift, rhinoplasty, necklift, or eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). Scars that occur as a result of injury or surgery often visibly remain after the wound has healed. Poor healing may result in unsightly and disfiguring scars. Even wounds that heal well often leave a noticeable trace.
Facial scarring may cause significant functional problems for patients when located closely to the lips, eyelids, ears, or nose. Repairing this damage requires a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon with the expertise and experience to evaluate the damage of the facial laceration, or its severity, and work with you to recommend the best course of action.
